- Refrain from eating, drinking, sleeping, or engaging in sexual intercourse for the duration of the event.
- Avoid planning or executing important functions, business deals, or inaugurations.
- Pregnant women must remain indoors and avoid looking at the sun or moon.
- Once the eclipse has ended and the sun or moon is clear, clean the home and all vessels.
- Take a ritual bath (ideally in a sacred river or using a bucket with drops of Ganga Jal).
- Perform charitable acts, such as donating groceries to the less fortunate.
- Begin cooking fresh food only after the bath and cleaning are complete.
