• Objective: To express gratitude and seek blessings from one’s mother and father on Guru Purnima.
• Prerequisites/Requirements: Fresh clothes, a thari (tray), 3 lit incense sticks, a small clay lamp with camphor, and flowers.
• Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Perform this ritual in the morning after taking a bath and wearing clean clothes.
2. Request your parents to sit down.
3. Wash and wipe their feet.
4. Prepare a thari (tray) with 3 lit incense sticks, a clay lamp with camphor, and flowers.
5. Turn the tray in a clockwise direction 7 times around your parents.
6. Bow down and touch the feet of your mother first, seeking her blessings.
7. Bow down and touch the feet of your father, seeking his blessings.
8. Only after receiving parental blessings should you proceed to pray to your spiritual Guru.
