Objective: To perform a sacred fire ceremony for Lord Vishnu following the Puja.
Prerequisites/Requirements: Havan kund, metal tray, Kusha grass, sand, camphor, firewood, Samaghree, ghee, Tulsi twig, specific mantra list.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Place the havan kund on a tile/tray and set Kusha grass on all sides. Put sand inside to prevent leaks.
- Light camphor to start the fire and add wood.
- Chant “Om Agni Devtaa bhyo Namah” and optionally add a Tulsi twig.
- Begin offerings: Every time “swaahaa” is chanted (using the listed 15 mantras), offer Samaghree or ghee into the fire.
- After specific mantras, sprinkle water around the kund three times.
- Offer Samaghree 21 more times while chanting the Maha Mantra.
- Perform Purna-Ahuti: Stack two purees, place remaining samaghree, a betel leaf, nut, and ghee on top. Place the whole bundle into the fire while chanting “Om sarvam vai poornam swaahaa”.
- Perform Shree Vishnu Aarti by circling a clay lamp around the bedi.
- Conclude by asking forgiveness, requesting the deities to return to their abodes, and chanting the Maha Mantra once.
